1.Razzi

Year- 2018

Genre- spy thriller

The story is about Sehmat who is an Indian-Kashmiri girl get married to a Pakistani army family. 

The marriage was just a trap, but deep lies the plan of Indian forces to know the secrets of the Pakistani army.

 By knowing the details from Sehmat, a spy, the Indian army planned their next step to war with Pakistan. The story is based on the novel  “Calling Sehmat” by Harinder Sikka.

The story shows the true passion for motherland although remaining under cover.

2. Lakshya

Year – 2004

Genre – Romantic war drama

Lakshya is definitely an intelligent, sensitive and thought provoking movie. It gives a strong message of having  a goal in life. 

Faran Aktar narrates the movie beautifully by portraying Hrithik Roshan’s (Karan) character from  a confused boy to a man of his words.

The movie showcases both general and individual aim. The love for motherland as well as individual progress is the subject matter which the movie reflects.

3. Rang De Basanti

Year- 2006 Genre- Drama

The story is about 5 young men from Delhi whose lives and perception changed as they happened to act in a documentary movie. The movie was scripted remembering five revolutionary freedom fighters.

It is explored parallels between how things would change if present day youths were as driven as those in pre-independent India.

4.  Ghazi Attack

Year- 2017 Genre- war 

The Ghazi Attack is the first underwater film directed by Sankalp Reddy. Though it is inspired by the historical event of Indo- Pak war of 1971, the story has a fictional touch.

The movie plot develops to decode the mystery behind the sinking of the Pakistan Submarine PNS Ghazi. 

The story unfolds the mission of an executive navel officer of Indian Submarine and his team who remained underwater for 18 days to complete the mission.

The movie is both available in Telugu and Tamil. The movie is a complete blend of action, drama and patriotism. 

5. Paltan

Year- 2018 Genre- action- war film

Paltan narrates the story of 1967 skirmish between Indian and Chinese troops near the Sikkim border. The movie shows how the Chinese army was perfidiously heading towards Indian states.

You will surely notice some chest thumping patriotism and genuine heartfelt emotion in the movie through the dialogues.

Both the young and experienced actors played well in the direction of JP Dutta.

6. Parmanu 

Year- 2018 Genre- Historical Action Drama

The movie is based on a true incident of nuclear test in Pokhran, Rajasthan 1998. 

Fact and fiction is selectively blended together to whip up a patriotic movie around a nuclear test conducted two decades ago.

John Abraham does his best since he was the co-producer of the movie. Therefore he was able to understand what Parmanu is trying to achieve as a movie.

7. 1971

Year- 2007 Genre- war drama

The movie is based on a true story of prisoners of war after the Indo- Pakistani War of 1971. The film narrates the story of six Indian prisoners waiting to be released after their capture.

The war of 1971 saw the creation of a new country Bangladesh, at least 54 prisoners of war were still languishing in the Pakistani Jail then.

The movie won the National Film Award for best featured film in hindi language.

8. Uri

Year- 2019 Genre- Military action movie

One of the best war movies ever made which was directed by Aditya Dhar. It received 4 National Awards.

The movie is the dramatised form of vengeance to the 2016 Uri attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers. 

The story of the movie relates the surgical strike of 2016. It was done by the Indian army against Militant launch Pads in Pakistan.

9. Chak De India

Year- 2007 Genre- Drama

The movie tells a fictional tale of Indian women National Hockey Team. The movie was inspired by 2002 CommonWealth Games.

Starring Shahrukh Khan, who enacted the role of captain of Indian Men’s National field hockey team. After his devastating loss to Pakistan, he was replaced from the sports.

10. Dangal 

Year- 2016 Genre- Biographical Sports Movie

The movie narrates the tale of the Phogat family. Mahavir Singh, who was once a renowned wrestler wishes to train his daughters whom he always thought as his sons.

Mahavir Singh Phogat played by Amir Khan trains better to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari than their appointed coach. He trains them to become India’s first ace female wrestlers.
